Whether we’re students, hostelites or working professionals we Indians love our Maggi. So much so, that any ‘instant noodle’ is synonymous with ‘Maggi’ in our vocabulary. While regular Maggi is a staple in our diet, we sometimes crave an extra zing in our favorite ramen.
So, if you’re looking for some chatpata Maggi recipes which you can rustle up from the comfort of your home, with ingredients easily available in our kitchen, read on.
This is a classic cheat recipe for lazy bums who want to add some more taste to your Maggi, without putting in the hard work. Make your ramen a bit drier than usual and add dollops of cheese spread on it. If you want a cheese overdose, you can grate some cheese on your Maggi after it is cooked. This is the easiest and tastiest afternoon snack, though it’s certainly not the healthiest.
0ne for the lethargic cooks out there. Deep fried Maggi is the perfect movie night munchie. Heat up a pan of vegetable oil of your choice and fry pre-cooked Maggi in it, you can garnish it with your favorite veggies such as bell pepper, capsicum, tomatoes etc. Finish off with a pinch of chaat-masala for flavor and you’re good to go!
What’s better than a bowl of warm noodle soup on a rainy morning? The answer is Maggi noodle soup. This is a little more cumbersome than your regular soupy Maggi, and requires you to simply substitute your regular noodle soup recipe with Maggi. So chop up your favorite veggies, add some boiled chicken chunks if you’re up for it, use vegetable stock or chicken stock, season and garnish as per your liking. I personally prefer adding a dash of rice wine or green chilli sauce to give it a Korean ramen like flavor and finish off with pepper. You can even boil an egg, slice it in half and place it on your homemade ramen.
You have your choice of meat, either leftover chicken pieces, boiled chicken, salami or sausages. For salami, simply shred it and add salami pieces on your Maggi. If you wanna add sausages then lightly fry the sausages first then dice them up and add them to your Maggi. Meat Maggi works best with leftover chicken pieces, simply remove the bones and add them to your noodle.
A slight variation on your cheese Maggi will be the corn and cheese Maggi. Boil the Maggi, add the tastemaker and a pinch of salt. Lower the flame and add corn, close the lid and let it simmer for about 2 minutes. Remove the lid, add grated cheese and mix well. Leave it on the stove for a minute more and voila! You have your corn and cheese Maggi.
If you’re a fan of Chinese food you should try out this delicious chilli Maggi recipe. Slice up some onions, capsicum, tomatoes and green chiilies, add some chopped garlic, soya sauce, white vinegar and green chilli sauce. Prepare the sauce with these ingredients on a pan with your vegetable oil, then add Maggi and tastemaker. This is a chilli dish worth the hype.
Have some leftover gravy from last night? Just add it to your regular Maggi for special flavor.
You might be on the fence about this one, but trust us, it tastes positively divine. The recipe is simple, just cook Maggi as you normally would but make it a bit dry. Set it aside. Mix two eggs with some milk, chilli powder and salt in a bowl. Heat up oil in a pan and empty the eggs on it, cook both sides properly and keep flipping it till golden. Add the Maggi to the omelette and fold it. Switch off the stove and let it sit for a few seconds and then serve it hot, with ketchup.
Wanna make some crunchy snacks for your kids? Or maybe just to eat on game night? Round up some fried Maggi and finely diced onions into balls, dip it in a mixture containing red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds, amchur and flour. Fry the Maggi pakoras to perfection and serve with chutney.
Make scrambled eggs with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilli and salt and pepper. Then add this divine mixture to your Maggi. It really is THAT simple!
If you’re into lemon rice, you’ll seriously love this one. Just stir fry some veggies in a pan and squeeze the juice entire lemon and mix it well. Add the pre-cooked Maggi to this mixture and stir well. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it as dinner.
